Masthead and Graphic
Above is the picture of my magazine cover concept. My scanned picture would be me kissing a dolphin, the captured picture would be the red colored water, and the vector graphic would be the bar code. The name of my magazine is going to be "Animal Advocate" and my sell line is "Everybody can make a difference."

Masthead Ideas
I knew that I wanted my masthead to be in all caps and span the whole width of my magazine cover. Here are some of the typefaces that I have pulled out to be possibilities.

Cover Sketches
The three sketches above are some of my ideas for my magazine cover. The one I am favoring is the middle sketch. I was planning on scanning in a picture that I have of myself kissing a dolphin. Then for the captured picture I would take a picture of water that is dyed red. I would overlay the picture of red water over the picture of me kissing the dolphin. Then for the vector image I might do something small like a PETA logo or something simple.

Mood Board
This is my mood board for the magazine project. My word was "PETA." My focus is on the Japanese dolphin slaughter that happens every year.
QUESTIONS:
Who is the target audience?
- My target audience is going to be people that have an interest in animals and against animal cruelty.
What is the name of your magazine? Why? Connotations?
- The name of my magazine is going to be Animal Rights. The reason behind this title is that my magazine is going to be on animal cruelty and ways that it can be stopped.
What will your masthead look like? Do you have any ideas for fonts?
- My masthead will look similar to Cosmo's masthead. It will be bold and span across the whole top of the page. I don't have any specific fonts in mind but I am thinking of a san serif typeface.
What images will be on your cover and why?
- I was thinking of having pictures of dolphins and something showing how red the water gets when these slaughters occur.
What will be your sell lines to entice your target audience?
- "Do your part to stop the violence."

Mindmap
This is the mindmap that my group and I came up with. At first it was hard to think of ideas but the more bubbles we added the easier it became. We definitely could have kept going with our ideas. We definitely had some weird connections in the mindmap. We went from the cat advertisement all the way to Paris Hilton in the movie House of Wax. It was very interesting to see what people thought of and how they connected them.

Photoshopped Images
This is my final recreation of the table and the Photoshopped images. I outlined my image in Illustrator for the vector art, I hope that is what you were wanting us to do.

Back/Constructed Packet
The top picture was my first idea for the back/constructed packet. In the critique I was advised to change the typeface of the body copy. The second and third pictures are my final back/constructed packet. I did change the typeface to make the instructions more legible. The typeface that I used was the same typeface used for the other two packets as well to try to tie all the packets together. The last picture is the template that I used to construct the packet.
Zombie Packet
The top picture was actually my first idea for the packet. I was going to have more than just one zombie but it started to feel crowded and cluttered and I did not like how it was turning out. So I decided to just focus on one zombie instead - hence the second picture. The last picture is my final one. I changed the typeface of "Unreasonable Theories" to tie all three of my packets together.
50 Shades of Grey Packet
The top picture was actually my second idea (my first idea is displayed in a post above). In my first idea, a lot of people said that they didn't get that I was referencing the 50 Shades of Grey book series. So I decided to change my format and get rid of the plant all together and just focus on the tie, mask, and handcuffs that are on the front of each of the books. I also added the book titles to make sure that everyone would understand what I was referring to. Some of the feedback that I received was that the tie didn't really look like a tie and that I had too much detail in the objects. So for my final one, I got rid of some detail that was in the mask and the handcuffs and completely changed the tie to make it more obvious. I also changed the typeface of "Tacky Books" and added the "blood spatter" from the zombie packet to tie all three packets together.
Hash Tag Packet
The top picture was my first idea for the packet. But then after the critique I changed it to the bottom picture because I got some feedback saying that I do not reference plants in my other two so it was inconsistent. I also got rid of the typeface of "Unnecessary Hash Tags" because someone told me I should change it and I also wanted to use it to tie all three of my pieces together. I changed the background color to a grey and added the "blood spatter" from the zombie pack to tie all three packets together.
